MSC rerouting TPEB ships As most are already aware over the last two weeks there has been a heavy upsurge of volume to the Long Beach and Los Angeles port harbor complex. Unfortunately, this surge in volume has put a strain on the available labor pool to discharge/load vessels and as such there is a serious shortage of labor and many vessels now sit at anchor waiting to work. This shortage has negatively impacted carriers and created many hardships; extended port costs, vessel delays, delays in container availability etc.
Unfortunately, due to this problem Mediterranean Shipping Company has decided to omit Long Beach first call on the MSC Ulsan v.10A. Although regrettable this action is necessary in order that we maintain our Panama Canal transit window and overall schedule integrity. The inbound cargo for Long Beach originally loaded ex Asia to the MSC Ulsan v.10A will be t/s at Manzanillo MX to the MSC Aniello v.230P MSC Ulsan v.10A/S Long Beach OMIT Manzanillo July 19 Freeport July 27 Miami July 28 New York July 30 Savannah August 3 MSC Aniello v.230P Manzanillo July 25 Long Beach July 28 We apologize for any inconvenience caused and wish to emphasize that our decision, although not easy, was done with the best interest of our customer in mind.
